URINETOWN
Assistant Props Manger
Unfortunately, Theatre UCF's production of Urinetown was postponed (and ultimately cancelled) just days before it was going to enter tech week and dress rehearsals. However, this also means that most of the props were done by the time campus closed for quarantine.
"Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, municipal politics and musical theatre itself! "
-From the Theatre UCF Website
I used Adobe Illustrator to create a logo for the fictional company "UrineGood Co.". This logo was then routed out of wood using the CNC router to be used as an illuminated insert for the main villain's desk. It was also cut on a Silhouette™ machine and applied as a sticker to the padfolios carried by the villian's henchmen.
The props manager and I did a lot of paint work in order to distress the metallic objects. This included percussive cans and trash can lid tap "shoes". I used a mixture of spray paint and dry brushing techniques to achieve a "rust" effect.
